Hello, I'm Stephanie Rutan and I'm a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance. I'm from Fort Wayne, Indiana, but currently live life to the fullest in Austin, TX.

I was a distance runner in high school and when physical therapy failed to heal my injuries, I, regrettably, had double knee surgery which was about as successful as my physical therapy... My yoga journey began in 2007, when I took a semester-long yoga course at Indiana University out of curiosity and loved the practice! Through a consistent practice I found that yoga helped relieve the knee, hip, and back pain that were a result of my injuries and opened up a spiritual perspective that continues to influence my life daily. Through my 200-hour yoga teacher training in 2013, I experienced the powerful physical, emotional, and spiritual healing that a trained yoga teacher can provide.

After teaching in Indiana for a couple years, I moved to the sunshine state of Florida. I soaked up the sun and enjoyed living on island time as I expanded my yoga brand and culture across Englewood and Boca Grande, FL. There I taught SUP yoga and beach yoga along with my studio classes and in-home privates. It was an amazing experience, but there came a time to grow where I was planted so I moved back home to Indiana. While living in Indianapolis, I was the studio manager of a natural health care school called Santosha School where our teachers are trained in yoga, breathing & meditation, Ayurveda, bodywork & massage, yoga therapeutics, music & chanting, emotional healing & non-violent communication, Sanskrit, yoga philosophy, and more! Santosha was my saving grace and while completing my 500-hour training I expanded who I am as a woman and as a yoga teacher immensely.

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Biology with a focus in Zoology from Ball State University. I'm a PaddleFit Certified Level 2 Coach, World Paddle Association Class 1 certified, and enjoy teaching kayak and SUP paddling techniques on the water. My education enables me to provide fun, unique avenues for experiencing yoga and nature though SUP yoga as well. I'm also a certified TRX Suspension Trainer and value the equipment's ability to tailor each exercise to your unique strength and flexibility no matter your age, size, or activity level.

Through all my classes I seek to share yoga's healing and empowering benefits with everyone. I look forward to sharing yoga with you.
